NIG is providing the industry but also artisans with products and process solutions for the harmonious and brilliant coloring of a wide variety of products. We are creating added value for our customers by manufacturing of standardized products from renewable raw materials or waste materials that can be used flexibly for fashionable results.

Our COLOR extracts

WAU-COLOR 

WAU-COLOR is an extract produced from the aerial parts of the Weld, Reseda luteola L This mordant dye is used to obtain different shades of yellow and olive colors with highest fastnesses. Different green nuances can be achieved in combination INDI-Color or HEMA-COLOR. Weld is an annual to biennial plant, native to Central and Southern Europe. Weld is one of the oldest dyestuff plants in Europe and known for its bright yellow with high fastness.

RHAMNUS-COLOR 

RHAMNUS-COLOR is an extract produced from buckthorn berries Rhamnus cathartica L. This mordant dye is used for different shades of sun yellow to olive. In combination with INDI-Color or HEMA-COLOR we can generate different green shades. Buckthorn, native in Europe, Asia and North America, is a deciduous shrub growing up to 3 m. After pollination the yellowish-green flowers develop fruits containing two seeds.

FUSTIC-COLOR 

FUSTIC-COLOR is an extract produced of wood of the dyers-mulberry tree Maclura tinctoria L. This mordant dye is used for the dying of different shades of yellow to yellow brown. The dyers-mulberry tree is native in Central- and South America und grows up in height of 20 m. The wood and the extracts have been used since centuries for dyeing and painting.

MAD-COLOR 

MAD-COLOR is extracted from roots of madder Rubia tinctorum L. Different shades of red, violet and brown can be achieved by variation of used mordant salts. In combination with yellow dyeing products you can develop nice orange shades. The Madder grows up in height of 50 – 80 cm. Madder developed a very strong red root network. It has been used since ancient time as vegetable dye with high fastnesses like for Turkish red.

COCHE-COLOR 

COCHE-COLOR is an extract made of female insects of Dactylopius coccus. By using Aluminium mordant different brilliant shades from pink to carmine-red are possible. The ladybug sized insect is cultivated on Opuntia (Cactus), especially in Latin America but also on Canary islands. The insects produce a red dyestuff, also widely used in food industry. In ancient time the extracts were also used for the dyeing of sacral robes.

LAC-COLOR 

LAC-COLOR is a side stream of the stick lac production and is been produced from the secret of Keria Lacca insects. In Asia this product is widely used in the food industry. By variation of used mordant salts different brilliant shades from carmine-red to violet and anthracite with high fastnesses, especially on protein fibers, can be achieved. 

BRASI-COLOR 

BRASI-COLOR is an extract made from the wood of the redwood tree Haematoxylum braziletto. With this mordant dye, various attractive red color shades can be achieved. The tree reaches heights of 5 to 8 m and is native to Central America. The wood was already used by the Mayas and Incas for dyeing and painting. In the ancient times, redwood pigments were also used in the illustration of books.

CATE-COLOR 

CATE-COLOR is an extract made of Catechu wood, Acacia catechu. This mordant dye is used for the dying of different shades of fawn to brownish colors. Cutch wood, also known as tanning agent, is a thorny tree growing in Asia. CATE-COLOR is also used in the leather industry.

QUEBRA-COLOR 

QUEBRA-COLOR is an extract made of Quebracho wood Schinopsis lorentzii. This mordant dye is used for the dying of different shades of beige to brownish colors. The tree grows up to 15 – 30 m and is native in South America. It is a very strong wood containing a high amount of tannins. It has been used as dyestuff and tanning agent since hundreds of years.

INDI-COLOR 

INDI-COLOR is an extract made of leaves and stalks of the Indigofera spec. L. This vat dye is used for the dying of different shades of blue and violet colors. In the over dyeing with WAU-COLOR or RHAMNUS-COLOR different green colors will be generated. Indigofera is a large genius of app. 700 species. It is a shrub with pinnate leaves and native in Africa, India, China and Latin-America. Some of these species contain glycosides as base for natural indigo production.

HEMA-COLOR 

HEMA-COLOR is the non-oxidised extract made of Logwood Haematoxylum campechianum L. Different shades of blue-violett, anthracite to black colors with HEMA-COLOR are possible by using of aluminium or iron mordanted products. Logwood is the most important dye wood. The wood and extracts have been used since ancient time in leather and textile industry. It is an evergreen tree grows up to 15 m and is native in Central- and South America.

HEMOX-COLOR 

HEMOX-COLOR is an oxidized extract made of Logwood Haematoxylum campechianum L. This oxidized Logwood extract can be used for the dying of different shades of blue-violet, anthracite to black colors. These shades are depending on used mordants and dyeing conditions. HEMOX-COLOR is more concentrated than HEMA-COLOR. The wood and extracts have been used since ancient time in leather and textile industry. The evergreen tree grows up to 15 m and is native in Central- and South America.
